The lack of faith is amply justified. If there is a god, history demonstrates that he will strike anything anywhere anyhow for any reason, or for no discernible reason at all. This is why most churches sport lightning conductors. Those that are not equipped by such man made protective devices are more likely to suffer predictable consequences.
