Lard is king for baking and frying, olive oil and butter (or ghee) for saute. Olive for any sort of dressing or mayo. Good olive oil and fresh, organic eggs makes the best mayo, I use whole eggs, good qulity olive oil, a little mustard powder, and apple cider vinegar with the mother.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Now, if it was a cheese sandwich with chilli jam, you're on!Brian Peacock wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2019 6:08 pmYou say that, but nobody I've met has ever taken up my offer of a cheese sandwich with raspberry jam. Try it. It's fantastic.
Christ I'm hungry.
I suspect no-one here would eat one of my favourites (usually on a roll, but it could be a sandwich too...) - peanut butter and cucumber...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

I have had jam with cheese on bread rolls before. It's tasty, indeed.

Finn's Hotel? is that part of Finnegan's Wake? I thought I knew most of Joyce, but am not familiar with that one.

Must admit that Finnegan's wake is a better hypnotic than most sleep drugs I've ever been given though.

Dont blame you. I am one who never understands the big fuss about Joyce. I have the same feeling about the German author Heinrich Böll. To me much overrated. IMHO.

As for Joyce, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is very approachable...
