Cooking Jim. The best friets in Belgium are made using beef lard. Go the port of Antwerpen and get the best friets in the world. Double fried in beef lard. With their own mayonnaise :shiver: :levi:

As a preparation for my visit to Amsterdam next month: Do I have to expect repercussions when ordering fries without mayonnaise?

you may receive strange looks, but that should not have any specific consequences. I never have mayonnaise myself, then again, I usually take a different sauce and all goes well.

Beware, if you say no to mayo you'll get chocolate sprinkles instead!

You say that, but nobody I've met has ever taken up my offer of a cheese sandwich with raspberry jam. Try it. It's fantastic.

If you do like mayo order a Patatje Oorlog.

Mayo, pindakaas en uitjes. Disgusting and almost 1000 calories.
