The how does that work (you can't explain that) thread - Ask here.

Post by pErvinalia » Thu Nov 22, 2018 5:37 am

Been meaning to start this thread for a while. Not the best example to start off with, but it was what I was finking today.

If I practice holding my breath (while doing nothing else), does my breath holding ability improve?

To a point. As an asthmatic child I was given a set of deep breathing exercises which included holding my breath. I noticed that I could hold my breath longer at the end of a session than at the beginning, and the routines did seem to benefit my lung capacity and peak flow numbers. Also any repeated physical activity trains the nervous system to be more efficient at the tasks in hand.

Not only that, PERV, you could take two rooms with some loose curtain between them, and practice this. Open the windows of one room and cool it to outside temperature, turn heat sources off. Now, inhale in your warm room, run in there and exhale in the cold room. Eventually, after a few thousand trips, you could warm up the room measurably with your breath! Science! You could even warm up the warm room with breaths from the cold room, as your exhale is always warmer than your inhale.

You can warm the room with farts, too.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The clothing we get now like T shirts is weird: it has no seams. The whole thin is knitted over some sort of body shaped mold.

In Indian sweat shops. Tights have been made for years using the same technique.

Was that called the Buteko technique? Our Nick had childhood asthma, which was totally cured by this technique...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
