The Key To Happiness: Being Useless

Post by Clinton Huxley » Mon Jul 09, 2018 10:32 am

Finally found a philosophy i can get on board with.

Zhuangzi suggests one should reject aspiration and just be useless. Don't strive for uselessness though.

Drag one's tail in the mud, like a turtle, and then you will be happy.

Tip 1: Designate an hour each day to being useless. If you find yourself trying to make a plan, stop. Go with the flow. Stare out of the window. Lick the window. Stand one one leg with one's underpants on one's head.

Fuck that, if being useless made you happy, I'd be the happiest man on earth, not a miserable nervous wreck

Maybe you are striving too hard.

I'm not striving, I'm good for nothing anyway.

Young dogs run about yapping and snarling.
Old dogs lie on the porch and stink.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
