This Particle Breaks Time Symmetry
Admittedly I've never really got into particle physics, but I was really surprised by this one as it seems such a massively important fact that has been known about for some decades, yet I'd never even heard of it. Increasing entropy is apparently NOT the only process that's asymmetric in time.
I can't quite begin to get my head around what the consequences of this are. I love these videos, they're an amazing introduction into how much more there always is to learn.

[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Between us my brother and I know pretty much everything there is to know about particle physics.

Though this video from DrPhysicsA was interesting. The Einstein Podolsky Rosen (EPR) Paradox...

Re: This Particle Breaks Time Symmetry
What if part of their behavior is determined in another dimension?Assume there is a field of sorts that "holds" them, and a change in one alters the field and thereby the behavior of another. It is instantaneous because of some relationship between this other dimension and where we are.
Magic!

If you could confirm that experimentally, and in so doing resolve Bell's Inequality, you'd not only be assured of a Nobel but you would never have to pay for a drink ever again!

Re: This Particle Breaks Time Symmetry
It’s all about the stuff we think of as real actually being the fizzy bit of another domain.
A bit like the foam on a latte where the coffee is the domain in question and the material universe and time is the foam.
Sorted, though who grinds the coffee beans is still a bit opaque..
