Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Starting in early 1998, we had a similar situation in Australia when 36 individuals active in Melbourne's organised crime scene, mostly involving cocaine and heroin distribution, were killed in a series of retributional murders. Law enforcement officers were concerned about the safety of ordinary people when the occasional shooting took place in public, but had considerable problems trying not to smile when they announced the death of yet another high profile gangster at the hands of another. The turf war petered out in 2010. Most of the deaths remain unsolved. I have a feeling that law enforcement had decided to utilise its resources in other areas.

As I recall, there were zero casualties amongst civilians; no crazed drive-byes with sub-machine guns, instead, there was precise targeting of competitors; these were civilised Australian criminals, not American loonies...Hermit wrote:...gangsters keep knocking each other off at a rapid rate, lightening the workload of police and court in the process. Yes, generally speaking even our gangsters are more civilised than the average US denizen.JimC wrote:As I recall, there were zero casualties amongst civilians; no crazed drive-byes with sub-machine guns, instead, there was precise targeting of competitors; these were civilised Australian criminals, not American loonies...Hermit wrote:...gangsters keep knocking each other off at a rapid rate, lightening the workload of police and court in the process. Seriously, though, the fact that no innocent bystanders were harmed often came down to luck rather than good management, for a number of the executions took place in public, like the car bomb that killed one gangster, and the (non-fatal) drive-by shooting of another. Furthermore, the latter was hit by four bullets, which suggests the use of a semi-automatic or automatic firearm. There were killings inside restaurants and outside clubs as well. Two crims were shot dead while sitting in their car, which was parked outside a football clinic for children. The six year old twin daughters of one of them sat in the back seats at the time.

Re: Idiots
In Finland, this time.
Three women killed in Imatra
The motive for the killings in the early hours of Sunday in the south-eastern town of Imatra is unclear.
A local man aged 23 and with a criminal record has been arrested.
Police said it appeared the victims had been chosen at random.
...
Crime levels are relatively low in Finland, but the country has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world, with hunting a popular pastime.

Re: Idiots
Not far from here a guy shot his neighbor to death because she told him to stop kicking her dog. It's all good though, because another neighbor held him at gunpoint until the police arrived.

A nutter might buy a gun and use it to relieve the world of an orange idiot.

Re: Idiots
That did not stop Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller from posting about the incident on Facebook, saying it was proof the U.S. needs to build a wall across the Mexican border to stop the drug cartels, who somehow also became part of the story.
