I don't see it as hypocrisy to be pro-free speech and also "get bent out of shape" over what other people say. I am very much in favor of free speech myself, but I certainly wish certain folks would shut the hell up. They're free to keep talking, despite my wishes. It is not inconsistent with free speech to be desirous that some other people shut up.

What would be against free speech would be if one, say, engaged in activities such as, oh, disrupting peaceable assemblies in order to interfere with the right of other people to express their views. Like, say, pulling a fire alarm in order to cause a conference to be terminated. Another would be to take people's signs, or to physically obstruct people from attending things.

Saying things like "I can't believe they allow this person to speak..." or "I wish this person would shut up..." or words to that effect isn't contrary to the notion that everyone has the RIGHT to say what they want.

The former is an opinion too. Even voicing the opinion that someone else shouldn't have the right of free speech is itself free speech. And, if we live in a world where certain opinions are verboten, then one might well be shocked that certain other opinions are nevertheless allowed. Such as, if the opinion "women should be in the kitchen, barefoot, pregnant and making sammiches" is verboten in one arena, then one might say they "can't believe" that the opinion that men should be killed and women should drink their tears would be allowed.

Even "this person should not be allowed to say X" is free speech. Feminists say it all the time, for example, when they say that certain things about or to women should not be said. They say that men should not be able to ask them out on dates in public, or comment on their weight or appearance, etc. They say that folks shouldn't be allowed to put up bilboards with bikini clad women declaring that you should be "Beach Body Ready" and stuff like that. Feminism says a lot about speech control. That's their view of it, and they're entitled to express it, legally anyway.

I will listen to anybody that has information pertaining to sexual assault regardless of who they are or what their agenda is. So if those white racists came to me
and told me that Pakistani men in Rotherham were raping white girls I would tell them to go the police immediately. And I would also expect it to be thoroughly investigated and justice to be served.
