That's from skimming through the first nine pages. I couldn't be bothered racing through the next 22.
Well, he does seem to believe that the loopy feminists are the prevailing feminists. And, they may be. You wouldn't think they are reasonable based on their prominent speakers and writers these days. If the bulk of feminists don't adhere to what the loopy folks are saying, you sure don't see them coming out in opposition to the crazy stuff in droves.

Take the college professor up in Canada who advocated for a policy that she uses in her classroom. Women, she says, speak first on all issues. Women are given the chance to answer questions first, and to comment on things first. And, if a panel discussion at a conference or debate does not include women, then it gets canceled. That nonsense was met not with stunned silence at its obvious insanity. It was not met with any opposition at all. Rather, the five other persons on her panel at the conference appeared to agree with her, as did the audience as a whole, which applauded her. You can google it and watch it on Youtube -- just google "women speak first college professor" or something and it'll pop up.

And, feminists don't call out Jezebel's writers, who polled themselves and found out that most of them had physically assaulted their male significant others. This was something that was laughed about, and feminists did not come out in numbers to say "hey - you know, if we are serious about domestic abuse, we might not want to make light of it when it is directed at men."

And, the feminists who sell the lie that women make 77 cents on the dollar for every dollar a man earns in the SAME JOB. Do you see feminists en masse correcting that lie? No. You see Professor Hoff-Sommers and a few other outliers pointing that out, and then getting banned from universities because they are apparently peddling hate or something.

Honestly, it really does seem as if the crazies do run the feminist nuthouse, like it or not.

You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

How does one become a Ratzian, if not by creating an account and posting on occasion? I am pretty sure getting banned at RatSkep is not a requirement for deserving the moniker?

I agree. But what the Dodo man does is quote the utterances of such factions (often who are at "war" with other feminists), and basically say that these are the views of feminists as a whole, and therefore all feminists are bad.

I'm well aware that yours is a much more nuanced view, and I would agree with a fair amount (but not all...) of what you have said in this thread.

Well, I don't think anyone can say that "all" of any group is bad. But, modern feminism does seem to have some major issues. I look at it like I look at religion. Is all religion "bad?" I'm an atheist, and I have fun scorning religion in general, but Unitarian Universalists and Buddhists can often be quite cool, and they can have good ideas and such. There are different factions. Overall, though, religion, and modern feminism, is bunk. Yes, I believe in the legal equality of women to men, and prohibition on discrimination based on sex. But, feminism these days, in general, goes WAAAAAAY beyond that.

That is a watered down version of your previous assertion that "It doesn't seem as if DaveDodo007 is tarring feminism with a single brushstroke. He appears to be addressing the factions of feminism who hold the loopy beliefs he's identifying." and it's just as wrong. Dodo did not write "loopy feminists prevail." He wrote "feminist are just a bunch of man hating cunts" over and over again.

Dodo does.

Well, I'm happy to be wrong about what Dave Dodo said. I just think it's a red herring to talk of "tarring feminism with single brushstroke." Whenever we talk of an ism, we are necessarily using broad brush strokes. We can never account for the individual beliefs of every adherent to a given ideology and every iteration of every interpretation.

At bottom, I don't think it's unfair to say that much, if not most, of modern feminism is not about mere legal equality and equality of opportunity without regard for sex. Modern feminism is often advanced based on lies. The lies include that women are paid 77 cents on the dollar for the same job/qualifications/experience. Many mainstream feminists tout this "fact" which is completely baseless. It is illegal to pay women less for the same job/qualifications/experience, and such acts are investigated and punished by government agencies and by civil lawsuits, and stats do not show, comparing like job to like job that women are paid less for the same thing. Same thing with the 1 in 4 women are sexually assaulted stats. It's unfounded, but sold as truth. And mainstream feminists advance the notion that women cannot be sexist, because they are women.

A lot of what is mainstream feminism is hogwash.

'New Atheism' can suck my tits, lick my ass, and toss my salad. Even after that it can fuck off.

Atheism is a lack of belief in God and gods. We waged a war of consciousness raising for decades so these little pukes could try to attach their agendas to it and make it a fucking ideology again. Christ!

New Atheism is the wave of atheism led by Dawkins, Dennett, Harris and Hitchens starting around 15 years ago. It's the non-ideological atheism.
