The Future...
One of the things I'm looking forward to in the future, is the eradication of speed bumps, once we all have driverless vehicles. They have to be the most wasteful ways of slowing traffic that exists. The extra wear on the suspension, the endless breaking and accelerating again between them, of hundreds of cars per day over each one, - not to mention how uncomfortable they make bus ride.
Anyway that's just a bit of a rant about speed bumps, but what are you looking forward to in the future?

Aliens arrive, leave again. No explanation....

What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?
Re: The Future...
My hover-car will just glide over the speed bumps any way.

A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.

The future will be slightly thinner, marginally faster, shiny and expensive.

Just have an override on the vehicle engine chip, that restricts the speed when in a protected zone.
You could have an audible warning, ten seconds before it deploys.
And police could use it in car chases. It wouldn't take too much technology to put it in new cars.
