From what I can glean from a few google searches, entanglement is used within the quantum logic-gates. There seems to be a prevailing school of thought that it has to be used in order for quantum computing to work at all. I can't claim to have followed much of what I read though.

Also interesting (and far more understandable to me) was the use of entanglement in Quantum Key Distribution. Basically, entangled particles can be used to transmit a one-time-key that cannot be observed in any way by an outsider without breaking the entanglement and it therefore being obvious that the encryption key has been compromised.

But that's nothing to do with pulsars... :tea:

The key to quantum computing is not entanglement, nor the possibility of FTL. Qbits, if they can ever be rapidly and consistently manipulated in large numbers, offer the possibility of massively parallel computing.
