Penrose may well have cracked it..

The best conciliation of the big bang, accelerating expansion and how the universe works I have come across. Requires patience but recommended watching.

He seems to have filled the gap in our wondering about the 'nothingness' before the Big Bang.

I'll have another look later after my head clears... :thinks:

I have NO BELIEF in the existence of a God or gods. I do not have to offer proof nor do I have to determine absence of proof because I do not ASSERT that a God does or does not or gods do or do not exist.

Modern science is hardly 200 years old. This is a 'scientific' creation myth. The evidence that 'big bang zero points either before or after' is based upon is hardly evidence at all. In comparison with the potential observations you are taking very tiny patches of sky and building a entire 'cosmological model' from that. Astrology. Cracked it...yeah, sure.
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

Well of course we bow to your superior mathematical and cosmological knowledge. Shall I leave it to you to write to Penrose and explain how he's got it wrong or shall I?

He wants certainty. You want certainty. That's growing old that is. :prof:

Penrose wears a bow-tie therefore science wins fashion!!!

As usual you are wrong. It is uncanny how you manage it with nearly every post you make.

I want science - exploration of reality, refinement of arguments, a closer approximation to how things really are, a wider and deeper appreciation for myself about the wonders out there. I want to try to understand as best I can the stuff that these amazingly bright guys really appreciate with a language I can't begin to understand.

I don't want certainty. That's for religion. And fuck knows what you want.

Penrose!

When I feel like a bit of self-loathing I pick up Road To Reality to see if I'm ready for it.

He's also very good at putting really complex physics and maths into language dullards like me can gain a glimpse of understanding from. :pardon:

A bit more that fills in some of the ideas in the vid above.

I've got that sitting, unread, on my bookshelf. I'm first going to do a bit of a brush-up on maths and physics just beyond what I know now, then I'll take the plunge...

Is that his opus on the laws of everything? I never read that one. I read Shadows Of The Mind and The Emperor's New Mind, and nearly needed a brain transplant after...
