I once saw a picture of a house that was designed to become a boat in the event of a tsunami. It had a fixed cradle part and a boat part that slotted into each other - with a mechanism for closing the hatches between them and freeing up the boat bit if the water levels rose too high.. Some bloke in Alabama or Louisiana - one of those hurricany-floody states. It was pre-Facebook I think. Something I got in an email. But it looked legit - albeit untested... :tea:
