Grey squirrels in UK 'should be culled'

The government is reviewing the way grey squirrel numbers are managed in England, and is assessing whether more needs to be done to control numbers.
The grey squirrel population has rocketed over the past 100 years.

Originally introduced from America, they are now officially classed as pests in the UK and have long been blamed for the decline of native red squirrels.

(continued, first they came for the badgers and now the grey squirrels - one wonders where this will end?)

Employ bitter UKIP supporters to hunt them down with hammers, next May. Keep 'em out of the poll booths. The UKIP voters, I mean. Keep them out of the poll booths. The squirrels can go in, just not the grey ones. They aren't allowed to vote anyway. Well, maybe in The Socialist Republic of Sturgeonland they are.

Really, they're tasty little buggers when properly prepared.

MySQL is red. Well at least when it's bundled with the Red Hat distributor of Linux.

You need to start importing Harris hawks from the Arabs. You can employ Dolers and Aussies to act as beaters, to chase the squirrels out of trees and out on the flat, where they'll be easy prey for your magnificent raptors.

Won't work. Too many cats around here. To Aussie cats hawks are just like eagles, buzzards or any other bird: Another source of food. That's why Aussie cats are exported to countries where birds of prey are a bit of a problem.

Give it up. Blighty would never have taken the trouble to put you in 40C island where every thing that lives, lives to eat you had She wanted you in the UK. :coffee:

Not everything, pal. We used to have a grass that did not want to eat us. Unfortunately 60 million descendants of the imported rabbit ated it all. Rabbits would eat everything were they not kept in check by our drop bears.
