Chrome Filling Up With Ads?

Post by cronus » Fri Nov 28, 2014 1:29 pm

Every page seems to be full of pop up ads on Chrome; can't read anything without some box lighting up and blurting out ad crap. Is it infected with adware? Does Google seem to think I've got some money to spend? :nono:

I don't see any ads. Don't you have ABP? Ad Blocker Plus? :ask:

The problem I have with Chrome lately is pages not loading. I keep getting Chrome's "Oh, snap!" messages :ddpan:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Chrome is not perfect. I can't get search and find to work in it.

Try Firefox as back up.

Firefox with the appropriate add-ons and you won't get any ads or popups, including removal of ads from youtube videos.

I get no ads with google chrome. And it is faster than internet explorer, I have both, and notice the difference straight away, if I open IE.

I use Iobit advanced systemcare regularly, I just set it to scan and turn off when finished, every time I close down.
It seems to keep everything clean and quick. I've never had less niggles with a pc.

Had no problems with ads for years. Seems to have lost a decade recently with pop-ups and stuff, although not on every page, maybe I've lowered my standards on my reading material and seen the web the way the masses do? Had this before a year or two ago. Probably/possible a lack of concentration on my click linking....?

You've definitely got pesky adware hiding somewhere.
Try the IOBIT advanced systemcare I mentioned. It really does work, and it's a free download.
It's no hassle to use, you just run it when closing down, and it scans, repairs, and then shuts down automatically. I wouldn't be without it. It offers you a pro version, but the free version is perfectly good.

Firefox with Ad Blocker Plus, NoScript and Ghostery does the trick for me. Haven't had a single ad in literally years.
