The Berry College Eagle is ready to fledge. It has been determined that it is female. Since she is hanging out in the branches a lot the approach cam better shows where she is.

The Decora eaglets are next

Four eggs were laid but only one hatched. This baby is two weeks old. It's head is already bigger than the egg it hatched from.

Eagle Update, May 22, 2014

Excitement all around--B3 has fledged!! She took off a little after 7 a.m., landed on a nearby pine tree branch, then came back safely to the nest.
...
We have lift off! At 7:11am B3 fledged making a circle around the nest tree and landed on a pine tree near the approach cam. At that time she was harassed by blue jays as well. Then the male eagle landed in the nest with breakfast and enticed B3 to return. About mid-morning she made a second flight to the same tree.

I can't stop watching. We've a breeding pair down at the bay, a block from the house. One has fledged but I think there's another in the nest. If I can get a decent pic I'll post it.

Magellanic Penguin Nest at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach California.

The Aquarium of the Pacific’s colony of about a dozen Magellanic Penguins will be tending to their nests and preparing to lay eggs throughout this spring and into summer. Nest boxes are installed behind holes in the rock walls of the exhibit so the birds can easily access both their nests and the beach and pool area throughout the breeding season. The Aquarium is home to more than a dozen Magellanic Penguins, which are native to the coasts of Chile and Argentina in South America.

The nest cam is installed in Floyd and Roxy’s nest.
