The "solid phase" synthesis of organic molecules is already known from the 90s. Peptides are made that way, but the system was rigged to make hundreds of similar molecules from an automated set of cycles. Someone merely had to weigh in the reagents. Some drug hits were made this way, but the hit then just gave a start point for research. Chemists made the same set by hand, as you had to be able to scale it up. Eventually the "solid phase" part was dropped and the same molecule was made by conventional solution phase chemistry.

Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Now that looks like real science! :{D

Meh.
Crappy University lab. Probably leaks.

Betcha couldn't make THC like we did. Mind you the stuff we got was in microgram quantities and easier to procure the conventional way.

We had a science club at school. My (slightly insane) science teacher let me make hydrazine after school! Then we poured some down a drain and threw in a match! Boom! :{D

55 years ago, health and safety wasn't a big issue, especially if your science teacher was slightly insane... :tea:

I modelled myself and my teaching on him! :{D

I have male pattern baldness syndrome. It's a genetic syndrome, so you know it's serious, right?
