They have just gone on sale today in the UK. I had mulled over the idea of getting one when they were first released, but frankly it looks limited in what it can do, lacks all sorts of stuff and seems a bit of an expensive, if attractive toy. So I think not!

I'd probably use one, but I wouldn't buy one with my own money.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Like most Apply things it looks very groovy and fun to use. Primarily I'd like one as an internet browser and portable movie player.
Without Flash support it seems like they're severely limiting it, so even if I had the spare cash to throw about I wouldn't spend it on something that won't be able to display so many websites.

A laptop does everything an I-pad does, and more, and they're about as equally as portable.

Apple are usually pretty good, they recently overtook Microsoft in market capitalisation, and will continue to grow I think, but the iPad is just pointless.

I won't buy one. I would use it if someone gave me one, but I don't see the point, as I have a laptop I'm very happy with, and use a desktop with a nice big monitor at home. Does the iPad actually do anything a laptop can't?
