Magnetic anomaly measurements support this rotation.
the theory of plate tectonics stands.

Both EE and PT accept the ocean floor map data, in principle. One point Maxlow stresses, however, is that in the case of PT, published plate reconstructions have never been constrained by the requirements of conforming to this data. In M.'s reconstructions, by contrast, since there is only one fit option at each stage, the paleomagnetic data can then act as an independent test of consistency. The resulting models can then be tested for consistency with a host of other data sets.colubridae wrote:Nah... the north american plate rotated as it moved so his V in the N Atlantic did not happen.

Satellites show sea level increasing by 3 mm/yr, which is to say an increase relative to the center of the earth, but tide gauges only show about 1.8 mm/yr (sea relative to land). If the measurements are valid, land and sea levels must both increasing relative to earth's centercolubridae wrote:Just not the earth monn measurements.Brain Man wrote:Both EE and PT accept the ocean floor map data, in principle. Took you all of 5 hours to answer after viewing this, after going to look up something minimal to disprove it publicly ?
I am interested though colubridae...colubridae ? what is that ? Anyway this fascinating..
So you are one of those people right..who basically saw the expanding earth animation..
What was your first thought...You didnt have any answer at the time, I am presuming because geology isnt your area.
So your first instinct was to try and seek out a reason to say "nah"... basically ? Then of course you would never think about whether you were standing on an expanding planet again unless it was put in your face to think about.
Thats why i think laziness and the strategy to remain mentally lazy rather than belief drives a lot of the problems we are discussing here. You basically don't care for anything that requires too much work, and your strategy is orientated towards keeping things that way. You see this going on all the time in science and many other areas. The energy expended is proportional to the minimum required to keep something new re-emerging again.
Same as when i got here, your first instinct was to find a reason to say i wasn't educated, ..then when that didn't work it is to wait and try and lump me in to various categories of personality traits of types you can discredit.
So basically your brain activity is completely focused on denial just to keep things the way you like ?
I have always find that just when you are onto something that person strategically feigns boredom. Which is of course a lie, as there is nothing boring about having your motivations taken apart publicly.colubridae wrote:Brain Man wrote:colubridae wrote:Nah... the north american plate rotated as it moved so his V in the N Atlantic did not happen.

oops sorry got bored and did it again. This must be getting to you?Brain Man wrote: I have always find that just when you are onto something that person strategically feigns boredom. Which is of course a lie, as there is nothing boring about having your motivations taken apart publicly.
Not really ive seen and heard it all i think, although always be prepared to be surprised.colubridae wrote:oops sorry got bored and did it again. I was just trying this stuff out to see your response. Playing the boredom card was a definite hit. Seen that so many times when im onto something. Oldest trick in the book people pretending to be bored so they can buy time to recover from a minor heart flutter.
