What a useful way to politicize mulish ignorance. Happily insulated from nearly all scientific knowledge, and secure in your righteousness.

Not at all.
Just taking in the fact that all of them can be forced to make a diversity statement. So either they ALL agree, or don't dare to disagree publicly.
Makes them sound trustworthy.

They traditionally spawn in pretty cold places like the Yukon river, is that significant?macdoc wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2023 6:27 amSome actual science instead of dated right wing drivel

Re: Conspiracy Theories
So all scientific research done in a university setting can be dismissed as tainted. Well done.
I suppose the willingness of climate change deniers to take money from the fossil fuel industry makes them far more trustworthy.
Re: Conspiracy Theories
What about science privately funded by the fossil industry?

I guess the science here too is tainted while the misinformation is just capitalistic goodness. A kind of meta-truth.Exxon Knew about Climate Change almost 40 years ago
A new investigation shows the oil company understood the science before it became a public issue and spent millions to promote misinformation
Remember those nasty cancer scientists told us smoking causes cancer? A liberal university lie so pervasive almost everyone now believes it.Exxon was aware of climate change, as early as 1977, 11 years before it became a public issue, according to a recent investigation from InsideClimate News. This knowledge did not prevent the company (now ExxonMobil and the world’s largest oil and gas company) from spending decades refusing to publicly acknowledge climate change and even promoting climate misinformation—an approach many have likened to the lies spread by the tobacco industry regarding the health risks of smoking. Both industries were conscious that their products wouldn’t stay profitable once the world understood the risks, so much so that they used the same consultants to develop strategies on how to communicate with the public.

Re: Conspiracy Theories
—meh, it’s fine to think the worst of all scientists. Whatever their motivations and personalities their work is either good, or it isn’t.
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Didn't a lot of scientists say smoking didn't cause cancer?
How about that thalidomyde science?
Or Pfizer getting billions in profit off the last couple years (how are those corporate scientists doing now? Pfizer must have done well, with science like that running through it)
I hear they are down nearly 30% this year. Thats gotta be conspiracy theory though...

Re: Conspiracy Theories
How complimentary of you to say.
Here's a conspiracy theory for you:
A company that paid the largest criminal penalty in human history is prominent and still operating.
If they paid for a bunch of marketing, would you trust it?
I don't expect you to take this seriously, but anyone who knows, knows how much to trust their marketing efforts.

Re: Conspiracy Theories
Of course.
Examining facts would be effortful. Plus you might lose faith in the giant drug company that repeatedly gets caught doing crime.

A conspiracy so grand even the wildlife and plant life moving away from the equator and up mountains are in on it.

Sorry, I've lost track...are you bemoaning climate change? If so, what do you want instead?
