He's right.
Actually, he is not.

But, assuming without admitting - for the sake of argument - that the statement is true, it remains true that a public relations mission designed to make Muslims feel better about their forefather's "historical contributions" to science remains a load of bullshit so smelly, the cows themselves are passing out.

Bolden is QUOTED as saying:
"When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator -- he charged me with three things. One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering," Bolden said in the interview."

No, he isn't. We have the technology and the resources to do it. It would be easier if we could combine resources, but we can get back to the Moon without the Russians. And, we certainly can get back there with the "Muslim countries."

The muslims should feel good about their contributions to science... about 600 years ago. Between the 7th and 15th centuries, Europe was a relative backwater compared to the muslim lands. Over the last six centuries... mmm, not so much.
Indeed. It was Muslim theology that put the kibosh on the scientific endeavour of the Arab world. Intellectual activity was deigned to be spiritually dangerous and would uncover forbidden truths (IE their Sky Daddy and his kiddy fiddling prophet are garbage). I don't think Nasa will mention that bit though.
It's funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious.

I predict a man will land on Mars the same year we get commercially viable nuclear fusion power and fully artificially intelligent computers......which have all been "50 years in the future" since the 60s......
