The regulatory environment we have prevents crashes? Good to know...

Nobody made that assertion here, and it's hardly ever expressed on this forum (except in jest). The reverse, however, is commonly expressed and implied, in seriousness.

I'm disappointed at the lack of Dreamliner jokes. After 2 seconds of googling, I could only find this weak example...

Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, the only passenger jet to have a plastic fuselage, has been grounded.

Presumably Airfix failed to put a big enough tube of glue in the box.

Ho.ho.

I think kids these days just buy the Airfix tube and the cheapest plane kit, then toss the plane in the nearest trash bin.

Or they do not know Airfix at all.

Apparently, Boeing not only outsourced the manufacture of many components (OK in itself), but also their design. So Boeing isn't really in a position to know what's actually wrong, be it the battery or something else.

:what: Now that would be sacrilege.

They can send me the kit if they're not going to build it.

They probably subcontracted out the subcontracting.

Should let the black box determine the fault after the first crash. This is the most economic solution?
