Funnily enough, previous models of the Darwinian tree, based on comparative anatomy, didn't predict the hippo would be closely related to whales.

You can get your life they do now.

No change ever happens to the predicted outcome though, even when they have to perform somersaults to make the models fit to little or no new warming. As observed warming tailed off to nothing, the IPCC got more and more confident in their doomsday predictions.

It almost seems like they have a fixed start, a fixed conclusion, and they just re-jig the middle bit.

Weird that. :thinks:

Little or no new warming? Records have been beaten three years straight. Stop lying.

Oh I can see what causes climate change quite clearly now. It's political. The rise of communism caused a drop in average temperatures and fascism caused them to rise again. The chart makes that unmistakeably clear.

There's a direct correlation between climate change and the rise of terrorism. Or computers. Or feminism. Or the rainbow people.

Climate change causes terrorism the same way it diminishes piracy, the Pastafarians were right.

And inverse correlation to IQ of voters. We have a huge population on the planet who do not bother to understand how "complicated" things work. Like electricity, atoms, and all that science shit. You can't take a selfie with a molecule.

What little climate change we've had is actually quite pleasant. A bit more sunshine in the summer, and slightly less ice in the winter.

More of the same will do nicely thanks.

Edit : But one of my earliest memories is of sitting in the playground in junior school, pushing lolly sticks into the melting tarmac.

We haven't had any of that yet this year. And that was sixty years ago.

tell that to winemakers... Spain is in trouble, Bordeaux and Burgundy are applying for changes to the rules ofAOP so they can start cultivating types of vines that stand hotter climates, and people up north like Northern France and Brittany are thinking about starting wineries as the climate is getting better for it, soon you'll be able to make wine in Britain... in the meantime summers (and climate in general) is becoming hotter and winters are worse, not necessarily colder, but more stormy...

That's not so daft. Climate change potentially results in the mass movement of people, instability and local wars over water access and the like. The fallout of all that can be terrorism.
