Venture Bros Mafia: Sign-Up thread

Post by Linus » Tue Nov 22, 2011 1:33 pm

The flavor is based primarily on season 1 & 2 of the Venture Bros series, possibly with some influences from later seasons.

I'm willing to experiment with the durations of game days and nights if there is interest (though daybreak and nightfall need to occur at times it is normal to sit in front of the computer in, say, the GMT zone). If I don't see strong or numerous opinions expressed, it will be 24 hour days and 12 hour nights.

Here's Lady Au Pair/Queen Etherea/Dr. Girlfriend/Dr. Mrs. The Monarch showing Rihanna how it's done:

Heya Linus ... I'll be in it. 24/12 is fine with me.

I hope not. If there are safe claims, then why bother with an awesome theme?

because the themes are flavor, not the essence of mafia.

One of these days I'll run a game around here. Once you've got a taste of awesome theme based mafia, you'll never want to go back!

Problem is that would give people with knowledge of the theme a huge advantage.

I plan to say a bit more in the rules/peanut gallery thread, but in short: Yes, just knowing people's name claims will be uninformative.

i guess if i had dozens of games to choose from whenever i wanted to sign up, then i might agree

but the reality is that i like playing with this bunch of doofuses on ratz and tr, and by limiting my horizons thusly i also often end up playing games based around Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, Some Shit About Elfs and lame stuff like that

This is a big disappointment for me. I'm really, seriously, not capable of playing two games at the same time, and I just signed on for a game at RatSkep.

Linus, under other circumstances I would have loved to participate in your game. Bad timing, nothing more. I will read it, though.

lazyin
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

   $str = str_replace(array("\{","\}")," ",$str);

I'm not sure I can play mafia here any more... gib thinks I'm a doofus by association.
