I am rereading it for the second time. I am on, The Shattered Chain, after already reading the Regis Hastur books. I think my favourite is Stormqueen! followed closely by the Free Amazon trilogy.

I thought about a Shattered Chain setting for this game, but in a lot of ways Spell Sword is the quintessential Darkover novel.

Hawkmistress! may be my favorite, though Stormqueen is way up there. But, the Regis stories are all quite good, too.

I plan to do another Darkover game, but I will want a larger group of victims players for the next one.

Kudos go to Marion Zimmer Bradley herself. I changed the POV, did a bit of transition here and there, and shortened the scene quite a bit. It's as true to the novel as I can make it.

I would just like to let people know that Def lives in Japan and Cookie I think lives in Australia. It is going to make it hard for them both to interact with people.

I'm willing to go to a 24/12 hour format after night 1 if people would prefer it. I was hoping that a 19 hour day would give most time zones a chance to participate at least a little.

Japan is an hour behind the east coast of Australia, so our nightfall is at 10am, Japan's is at 9am. That's enough time isn't it?

It might be. We'll see.

I don't mind the 24/12 schedule at all, though I know it is confusing to players sometimes since nightfall isn't at the same time every day. So, I tried this schedule to see if it's an improvement or not. I could also lengthen the day by an hour as long as players are ok with an even shorter night.

But that's something I'd have to discuss by PM individually so that the players with night actions aren't exposed. :dp:

If anyone wants to initiate that PM convo with me, maybe I can get it sorted out in time for night 2.

It must be great fun modding a game. Knowing exactly who's good and bad. Rubbing your hands with glee as town in their paranoia and ignorance, and nudged along by scum, implode and turn on each other taking out an innocent, like when they done in Piggy in Lord of the Flies.
Or keeping tabs on the serial killer, tracking his or her movements.
Or joying at a good piece of play or face-palming at a bad one.

I must try it some time :dp:
