I joined in out of curiosity. I had absolutely no idea what it was all about and whe I say "no idea" I think I should expand.
The nearest I have come to this kind of 'game' are murder mystery parties at people's houses. I didn't know there would be teams. I didn't know roles would evolve. I had no understanding of terms used - scum, town, vanilla, ping, etc. Having offered to play, it soon became clear that bailing wasn't an option as it would effect the whole game, so I had to look through the rules thread and make notes

I never did anything over-night.... I had no idea what to do! I'm still not sure who you are and aren't allowed to communicate with off the playing board. Also, it's difficult to know what role to pick when you are offered, having no experience of what any of them might entail.
Irre was a great, friendly mentor, but I didn't even know what questions to ask. It's a bit like playing a board game in a foreign language.

So I have been thinking about the recruitment of new players. How about offering a buddy-up system, allowing a newbie to tag along with an experienced player? They could exchange pms about what is going on and why. Then when they feel ready, they could play in their own right.
Anyhow, thanks for having me and sorry if I cocked it up.
