The Big Idea

Doppleganger Mafia plays like normal Mafia, but with one big exception: You won't be playing under your own name.

Instead, I will take the Final List of players and randomly assign a new name to you. Your new name will be astoundingly similar to another player. For Example, your new name might OOblivion or Feckk.

I will create accounts and passwords for all the new players' names. Don't attempt to do this on your own, please.

Before the game, you will recieve a PM instructing you to log out, and then log back in as your new character. I will tell you your secret login password as well.

Avatars will be allowed, but only pictures of US Presidents or Famous Blondes will be allowed.

The Peanut Gallery will allow you to post as your main account or your Doppleganger account; your choice.

Revealing your true identity is Prohibited!!! This includes any language, pictures, or other means that spoil the fun, and this rule continues even after your death until the game ends. Mild hinting is allowed but cannot be judged as "obvious reference" to your main character. Violation of this rule will be regretable to yourself and your team as well.

This game should allow us to break away from meta-gaming (sort of) and try our hands at back-to-basics Mafia.

It's also a good chance to poke some good, clean fun at ourselves!

The game will begin after a few days off after Carnivale finishes.

The game that was run along these lines at TR was a lot of fun and a huge challenge for people who thought they went strictly by objective scum tells. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have time to play this one.
