That's for the day part of the day. The night part is 8 hours. Starting with Day 2, each day will be 16 hours long and each night will be 8 hours long.

I think Mephistopheles put himself forward for mayor as well, Oblivion? I remember this because I asked for the mayoral candidates to present little manifestos (what else do we have to go on?) and he was one who has done so. For the sake of good order, so have Redial and Witticism (but not Feck or Virphen yet).
