Re: Monopoly Day 3

On DP, he HAS done this before as doc. It was Durro's werewolves and vampires game at Ratskep I think.
He was invisible for the first two days.

His first appearance was by pm to me to say he'd protected me out of the blue because I claimed a role in the thread.

He works on the basis of instinctively knowing who is telling the truth.
This is what he did when he protected Oblivion, knowing it was in the best interests of town.
He doesn't say much, but actions speak louder than words.

if I were scum and an indie player outed (and I'd know they were legit because I'd have been wondering who did the other NK the first night) and actively courted town for a choice of NK, I'd very much want that indie player dead... there were no outed specials to hit, and they had a fair chance of a doc choosing not to protect the indie player

For this you then have to also believe that I am lying, and have risked claiming seer in a game where zigmen stated it would be a standard setup.

I wouldn't do that.

Because scum clearly tried to kill oblivion (as scum would) and DP protected her. It just all ties together. It seems unpalatable, but that's what fits.
Actually, it doesn't seem unpalatable. That point and the nightly tweak (giving oblivion a view) mentioned a bit before it were points I hadn't considered.

Alright I get it now.

Okay, accepting that oblivion, MZ and DP are who they say they are, and that oblivion is working for town, and my own vanilla role .. That leaves irre, Feck, Mantis, Nelli and squid.

I'm going back to that OTT comment about Feck from Squid which I thought pinged quite loudly. Also Feck's comment that I removed a vote from him when I hadn't even voted for him, in fact had said I thought he was townish ...

unvote vote Feck

If Feck and Squid are both scum, where does that leave irre, Mantis and Nelli? All vanilla town? Is that likely?

Exactly. And why I needed time to decide when to out her myself, because I felt she was working in town's interest and that town needed her whereas scum would be first to knock her off.

What made you think she was working for towns interests?

Good question. I really thought she was genuinely scum hunting on Day 2, and for an indie to win, she'd have to either align one way or the other or take out everybody. I really couldn't see her aligning with scum because we all have only ever played with her as town recently and any deviation would be obvious. Her probing and activity looked pro town to me, although there was something about it that looked off on Day 1 which is why I viewed her.

I wasn't going to out her until I got a second view at least. I would have left a trail as I stated before, but she outed first.

I felt even if she was looking to take out everybody, she'd want to take out scum first and be seen to be protown.

In a way, I was biding my time, just using myinside knowledge an observing how things panned out.
Eventually, when the wifom you started got out of hand and Irre called for the seer to out, I thought the time was right.

Actually.. good point.. could there be 4 scum this game? I'm thinking more likely three.

I'm thinking lynch one of feck or squid, then view the feck/squid survivor. If a don has been viewed we have no choice but to lynch based on posting. Of course I don't include myself in the lynching list or viewing list because I know my role. Please adjust to suit your personal preferences.

Okay. I didn't think of it as WIFOM .. I thought oblivion's claim was WIFOM.

Now this:
charlou wrote:If Feck and Squid are both scum, where does that leave irre, Mantis and Nelli? All vanilla town? Is that likely?
Of the five, no matter which two are scum, that leaves three ... what? Or might there be three scum among them? Unlikely. Two scum and another special who hasn't outed yet? I don't know about that either .. could be though. Either of those scenarios seem more likely than eight vanilla town out of ten town players.

Hmm... I'd have thought one of them, at least, would have outed... everyone has been under pressure.
