No, this one. I can't do anything, I just get to be disbelieved and die.

I've been saddled with a miller role, so I'm coming straight out with it before a seer shockingly finds out that I view as scum.
Er, you know we can't believe your claim, right? I'm figuring you're not vanilla scum, though, otherwise you'd just try to stay under the radar. Perhaps some other indie? I'm going to refer to mafia wiki...

ETA missed a pile of posts with crosspost
Lynch me and you'll see I'm telling the truth, or don't lynch me and see that I'm playing my town game, if I tried to stay under the radar and was viewed I'd be accused of playing the miller card because my head was on the block, I outed voluntarily, on day one, I have nothing to gain by it.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

The Curious Squid wrote:DP, I think if I was in your situation I'd do the same thing, it sounds like an impossible role to play but as mentioned, it's not like we can trust your word in a game where doubt and paranoia are the main weapons at our disposal.

Though I do find it weird that you haven't just given up, I wouldn't even bother trying to defend myself in that situation.
Why give up? Why not try to survive with a difficult role? It's easy to play mafia as scum, or as vanilla town, it's slightly harder as a town special, it's nerve racking as an Indie, all my cards are on the table, so you guys get to decide what to do with me.

I'd be a serious liability at endgame if I hadn't outed. The seer thinking he's found scum and killing off a town player with 3 or 4 players left would be a disaster.

Here's how you play a miller role:

post 1 day 1: I'm the miller.

The miller role, if real, is GM-created wifom. If not, the player is scum.

We'll get some good info from how people react to your claimed role.

I'm getting more and more curious about the game design.

Post 5 or 6 instead of post 1 but that close enough for you?

And I get accused of Wifom :) um I would have thought you might have tried to play a good town game and hope that you didn't get seer'd but Also I can't see anyway scum would have the guts to try this . I do think it's better for town to know this . .

Playing trying not to get viewed looks suspicious, and could cost the game if I'm viewed towards the end, better to come clean now and let you guys decide.

phone access limitations are pissing me off.

dp you're a noob at millering so I'll cut you some slack just this once.

let's at least keep our options open and use the day well. a quick day q lynch without getting a sense of people's gameplay is only to scum's benefit.

I've only see a miller in one other game (that I GM'd, and threw it in the mix... callan can attest to it!). The players didn't know what to do with it.

Oblivion, do you suggest we ignore DP for today?

Just read the sign up thread, zig makes a point of saying "expect indies" plural, this could be worse than the feckin monopoly game :?
