Feck, I think you're town because of your response to my gaffe .. but don't let my error yesterday cloud your judgement today.

Okay, I agree with this and UT's similar argument. MZ's strategy is better, but I don't think oblivion's (scumhunt as usual and vote accordingly) should be discounted. I think doing the latter will be the crucial tactic ... If we go by past regular games, votes tend to be dispersed among players unless there's a glaringly obvious scum error, so a vote spreading may well be natural consequence of that. Deliberate, tactical vote spreading is useful if there's indecision ... but I'm not convinced it's not better for an individual to abstain, depending on the given situation. IOW, settling on a single strategy for the entire game may not be the way to go, but keeping all the options in mind and going with the best one under the given circumstances may be best.oblivion wrote:I think it would further cut down on the info that we can get from the game threads. we're already totally dependent on town specials for alignment info to help make sense of the voting records as time goes on.charlou wrote:I'm asking ob and MZ because they've been discussing strategy earlier ... but what does everyone think of UT's idea?
it's going to be interesting to see how outed scum vote and interact in the game thread. should be wifom central.
remember scum in the zombie game? amp that up a few notches.
Does that make sense?

I've put my night move in with a few minutes to spare. If there's a scum roleblocker I'm assuming it will be blocked tonight.

To Charlou, re:strategy.
Yes and it's what I'm settling on.
I think the first two days we can just see what plays out.
I'm looking forward to seeing my score.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
Yes it does. And you also have to consider that town is seldom of one mind anyway, because we learn more about who are allies and who aren't as the game goes on as well as because we have different ideas about what benefits town.charlou wrote:Okay, I agree with this and UT's similar argument. Town is not likely to agree to follow one strategy this early in the game no matter how compelling the argument.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
The danger with scum hunting and voting accordingly is that it only takes one player to slip through the net.
I want them all to feel under pressure.
That's why my strategy today will be looking at those specifically with no votes on them.

I agree that we need to be looking for all scum, and not completely focused on hammering the strongest suspect of the day.

I was just checking Athene's posts and this was her first. It's really very insightful.Athene wrote:Put one lynch vote on them and see what happens the next day. If it changes then we know you were lying.Bolero wrote:The thing is, we won't know what's happened, because the codeword roster thingy won't tell us who's been targetted - it'll just give us a letter. So if I've been "maxed out", for instance, I can tell you all that, but how would you know whether to believe me or not, because all you can see beside my name is a letter?Feck wrote:I might guess they get a vote each ???Fuzzy Fungi wrote:My guess would be that scum probably max out a persons vest overnight. That seems to be roughly equivalent to a night kill in this style of game.
When today's codes are published, we will get a picture of every players score without knowing it.
In days to come, we will be able to build a picture of their code word and maybe able to guess the code word.
I like Athene's thinking on this. It looks townish.

It's an interesting idea you have, but I don't see how you get that from Athene's post? From that quote it looks like she thinks we will all get the information about each others' point score each morning.Magicziggy wrote:I was just checking Athene's posts and this was her first. I didn't get it from her post. I just think she is thinking like a town would think.
But her post has set me thinking about the soon to be published scores.
