Even with scum's night kill that would still push the game length back and give town more room to figure things out. But know that I've thought about it more, i'm thinking mz might have a point, we all know that being scum is stressful over time so putting a couple of votes on everyone should step that up. also adding and removing blocks of votes tomorrow also might get some cracks showing.
Reading this and recalling post you made earlier, I'm not sure you understand how the point system works, UT? What do you mean by "lynch the same person again and again" ... and "scum's night kill"?
Ah, on rereading it, I understand what you mean. We single out a vanilla town (you) and pile our votes on you every day so that you're the only player armed ... hmmm ...

... so that you're the only player armed initially ... but yeah ... this is an interesting strategy to consider ... ob, MZ, what do you think?

I'm asking ob and MZ because they've been discussing strategy earlier ... but what does everyone think of UT's idea?

Okay, I didn't notice that in Zigmen's post.

that's the thing char. it makes great sense from a game mechanics perspective, but it's lousy for gameplay. It would never put pressure on anyone, and there wouldn't even be any real reason for most people to show up, which is why i've reconsidered. It would have the effect of protecting our specials from all but the night actions which they should be able to counter somewhat. But all in all i'd rather lose playing the game than win by everyone sitting on their thumbs while we wait for the specials to win it for us.

I think it would further cut down on the info that we can get from the game threads. we're already totally dependent on town specials for alignment info to help make sense of the voting records as time goes on.

it's going to be interesting to see how outed scum vote and interact in the game thread. should be wifom central.

remember scum in the zombie game? amp that up a few notches.

charlou wrote:oblivion, you asked me yesterday for my thoughts about Gonzo ... he is playing a relaxed game so far .. but he's not been placed under pressure. Using the FF game as meta on his town game is maybe a bit off because the reason for his flail like behaviour was an unfair FOS leveled at him. I won't say more about that as that game is still dragging on in progress.
coming back to this, I wasn't thinking about the flail so much as the passionate involvement in the game. He played for 2 "days" - 2 weeks with a lot of energy and fire. And something he kept hammering was that his baseline assumption was that a player was town unless/until they did something scummy-looking.

I'm comparing the latter, in particular to his restrained and non-commital comments about several players.
