It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important.

I've said it as scum and as town.
Profile watching will lead us to lynch for completely the wrong reasons.
I was online for many hours yesterday and paid little attention to this thread as it wasn't moving.

I agree. I mentioned it on the sign-up thread that it drives me crazy when I'm called on that, because I have a tendency to open a few windows and read past days, etc. I was looking at a past Tarot game earlier, trying to figure out if the actual cards we've been given are important or if we should be concentrating on the "meaning" of the cards Oblivion uses in her posts to figure stuff out. Unfortunately, I'm also reading various Tarot For Dummies sites, and as far as I can tell, each and every card can mean a very specific thing, or the exact opposite, or something entirely unrelated. It sort of reminds me of those daily horoscopes in the newspapers.Magicziggy wrote:That way lies madness.Athene wrote:As much as I hate profile watching .... aza has been online since the game started .

How likely is DP to be scum AGAIN? I know gamblers fallacy and all but a GM might decide enough's enough.

You are playing with fire. Oblivion lets the RNG decide roles, not history.MattShizzle wrote:How likely is DP to be scum AGAIN? I know gamblers fallacy and all but a GM might decide enough's enough.
There is no way you should consider the past in deciding whether a player is scum or not.

I mostly agree with you, but in this case I consider it worthy of comment because he hasn't so much as checked in.Magicziggy wrote:That way lies madness.Athene wrote:As much as I hate profile watching .... aza has been online since the game started .

Athene, I'm struggling here, as I assume many of us do on Day One, but I'll ask why you asked me if I'd Mayor vote DP based on that gamblers' fallacy thing, when (in my opinion) I posted that it had simply crossed my mind, and I moved on. It's not like there are a gazillion posts on this thread, to confuse issues and posts.

Re: Tarot III Mafia: The Fool's Journey Begins
You asked if I'd Mayor-vote DP, based on the gamblers' fallacy. Considering I had already Mayor-voted someone else, and had also explained in that post that I get the logical problems with the "gamblers' fallacy," it, frankly, worries me. Worries me enough to unvote you for Mayor. Not enough to lynch vote you. But, it bothers me. There are - what? - a couple of score posts on this thread? Hardly enough to get confused about what people actually posted.Athene wrote:How did I misrepresent you?amok wrote:@@unvote Unvote Athene.@@
