Just checking in before bed, ZM welcome to Ratz and our little mafia corner,

A lot of the players here do keep their online status hidden, but since staff can see hidden members it's of little value to any scum trying to hide. However a number of people do stay hidden all the time, not just during the games.

I'm going to Vote DP for mayor since I want to, and I'll be back around lunchtime tomorrow to see who has slipped up early on.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Yes, welcome ZM - thanks for joining us.

hmmm ... It's so quiet here ... like everyone's waiting for someone else to make a move ... How to get the ball rolling? Isn't it customary on day one to start the game off with (at least initially) random votes, just to create discussion?

To that end I'll do what I've done previously and make a blind selection from the OP list ...

However as I suspect you to be a ringer whats the story with flushing out scum on day 1. Or should we just not vote.
My plan today is to wait until about midnight and vote for the one post driveby or possibly no poster. That's in about 18hours.
Magicziggy, what do you mean by ringer?

Hi all,

I'll be around for awhile after this, but there's not much to go off of now. I think MagicZ always looks a bit guilty (in my mind at least), though, I think that's just his way.

Hi,

I was thinking similarly ... I've come to learn a bit about (and from) his style in our previous few games, as I have with some of the other more active players.

Yep, he is posting in a similar way to what he always does, and always ends up innocent.

I assumed ZM is a friend of oblivions so I assumed that he would be an experienced player. That's what I meant. But I'm quite prepared to take him at his word that he's fairly new like most of us.

Looking guilty is a state of mind i suppose. I do play with a view to the bigger picture which is not to set any pattern or style. Not quite sure what I've done to look guilty here though. I'm not being as silly as usual. Maybe that's it. And I haven't voted yet. Maybe that's it. Day 1 is a lottery. Looks like it ends at 3 in the morning for me.

I will state quite categorically that no one "looks" guilty at this point in time with the exception of perhaps me for whatever reasons people might have.

And I will take that back because now I come to think of it, if I was another player, I would have had a seed of doubt in my mind about me. That is clever play. So Mantis, I'm calling you to account for sowing the seed of doubt about me. Please explain.

Well I will take that as a compliment, because in the 3 games I've completed here its innocent 2, scum 1. On RS, I've started innocent 1 out of 2 but was body snatched half way. I think I have estblished a pattern of confusion which can only benefit me in the long run, even if in the short term it's costing my team.

Well, it's not like I think you to be completely innocent because of that. I'm just saying that Feck pointed out that you were posting a lot, and gave you one of these for it: :what: .

I know that in the past, you tend to post a lot, and that has made you look guilty (even though you were actually innocent).

Now whether or not you are using the same tactic is a different story.
