Usually, but docs also can't normally protect the same person 2 nights in a row. Also, watchers are a really rarely used role on sites I've played on.andrewclunn wrote:Doctors can protect themselves?
Where in tarnation is the GM?

Depends on how the GM has configured the roles. Docs can't always protect themselves and sometimes there are other restrictions, like not the same person twice, etc. I did not say scum would likely go for charlou tonight, just that she's a known special, they don't have to look for her now, amirite.andrewclunn wrote:Doctors can protect themselves? And watchers are a great way to catch scum who pick an obvious target. I think the night actions aren't as obvious as you make them out to be. Then again, not knowing Gonzo's style, I'm not aware of what powers generally appear in his games.b.ternarius wrote:I definitely prefer a lynch, though this was an unusual circumstance because we hadn't a secondary reasonable bandwagon to shift to.andrewclunn wrote:I never said mass. Other people just assumed that. Getting a few of them though? Yeah. Though the existence of fake roles changes the math there a bit. Still a no lynch is better than a random lynch at this point, statistically speaking.charlou wrote:So you agree that a mass day one role claim isn't a good plan, after all?andrewclunn wrote:Keep in mind folks that lynching randomly just accelerates the game. So long as you still have investigative roles, giving them more nights to catch scum is a good thing. The no lynch was a smart move, you just don't see it yet
I don't see how even outing a few roles helps town until late in the game. Look at this situation: the doc had to out, now she is a prime scum target and scum doesn't even have to suss her out. She'll have to use her power to protect herself instead of someone else. It isn't good for town at all, and is a plus for scum.
What do you mean by 'watchers'? The equivalent role here may not work the way you have experienced it.

Yes. ie. Something like, "You are Eva, the TRAITOR. You win with scum..blah blah blah."charlou wrote:Magicziggy wrote:I saw the post from gonzo. It was a scum aligned traitor role. I think aza has played weirdly thus far. I'd like an eye kept on him.

Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Tactical Espionage Action DAY
I would say a traitor need only watch and wait if a scum member were in danger. (my experience)charlou wrote:Anyone noting any traitorlike behaviour among the day one posts?
I was very wary of having to use a saving vote and then giving myself up and the person I was saving (in zigmen's last game)
I concentrated on affirming wrong thoughts and steering gently away from correct ones.
This assumes that the traitor knows the identity of the scum team (as I did).
I havne't noted any of that. But I shall re-read tonight.

Heh. Not very coherent, tbh. I think you, amok and irre are town. Also Athene, probably feck, probably shizzle. I'm not as sold on andrew the town newb as others seem to be, easy to hide in all that newbishness, but not convinced either way. I'm in my usual day 1 dunno mode.charlou wrote:Your thoughts on other players .. ie any thoughts you want to add.b.ternarius wrote:Which thoughts? I already noted amok seemed confused to me and why. I accept she got sucked into the flavour and couldn't decide what to do about it as a town player. I think she's town.charlou wrote:b.ter, your thoughts too, please.

Hey! We're on the same wavelength! I have you, amok, charlou as town, with probably feck and athene (less sure). Oh and dp as town, too.b.ternarius wrote:Heh. Not very coherent, tbh.
