Nelli didn't know that someone was able to see who she hid with. That was a bit of a relief!

Re: Hide and Seek Day 4
Thanks for the game. I actually thought there may have been a seeker on the scum team trying to find me...
And, yes, I'll be playing again
And, yes, I'll be playing again

Re: Hide and Seek Day 4
higgs, regarding your question about being hidden (cloaked as you put it) ...
You may know this already, but in case you don't, there are two ways to set your online status to hidden ...
The first:
Go to your user control panel > board preferences > edit global settings > hide my online status > select 'yes' (select 'no' to unhide)
Note the small print beneath this option: Changing this setting won’t become effective until your next visit to the board. This means you have to log out and log back in before your status will change to the one you selected.
This method of opting to be hidden (or unhidden) becomes the default for your account and remains in place until you change it, again by selecting the yes or no options in your global settings, then logout and in again to activate.
The second:
If you're not already hidden by the above method, you can hide yourself session by session when you use the login page accessed by the login option at the top of the page (not the one at the bottom of the index page). The login page asks for your username and password* and gives you the following two options:
Log me on automatically each visit
Hide my online status this session
If you select both you will remain hidden until you override the first option by logging out. When you log out, you become unhidden by default and must select the option again the next time you log in if you want to maintain your hidden status. If you only select the second option you only remain hidden while you're active. When your session times out due to inactivity, you become unhidden by default and must select the option again the next time you log in if you want to maintain your hidden status.
* If you've forgotten your password there's a link to arrange an automated email to be sent to you, provided your email address is current - you can update your email address via your user control panel any time you're logged in. You can also change your own password any time you're logged in.

Re: Hide and Seek Day 4
Thanks Charilou. I have p. much figured that all out. I don't think it was user error going on in the game. I usually am hidden, but deactivated it during the whole kerfuffle. I was cloaked when I logged on that night, and denny or whoever said they had seen me earlier, which was impossible. It was impossible because I wasn't on, and if I had been I was cloaked. But then it seemed that people could see me when I was cloaked. I don't know what was going on. The real problem is some weird meme we have going on here that if you look at the thread but don't post you're scum. I intend to ignore it.

I don't know either, in that case.higgs2 wrote:Thanks Charilou. I have p. much figured that all out. I don't think it was user error going on in the game. I only comment on people being around (or not) if it's clear to me that they've not made themselves hidden (hidden members names show up as italicised), as I won't use my admin ability to see hidden users as part of game strategy. Other staff players have adopted the same kind of honour system in this regard.higgs2 wrote:The real problem is some weird meme we have going on here that if you look at the thread but don't post you're scum. I think commenting on players (who aren't hidden) looking but not posting is a valid form of pressure in mafia games. It amuses me when people comment on me being here and not posting (especially if I have in fact posted, or if I've been catching up and the comment is made before I'm done reading), but then I just respond to those comments as best I can and hope that's good enough.

higgs, I wasn't lying when I said I saw you. It was at the very beginning of the game, I saw your name lingering at the bottom, and then a little later in the game as well.higgs2 wrote:Thanks Charilou. I have p. much figured that all out.
