Re: Simple Mafia 2 - Day 4

Good morning. It's 7 AM, just getting caught up.

I have a thought that came to me last night. Given the makeup of scum (colebridge, Verphin, someone) would it be fair to say that it is most likely that Verphin was the "mastermind", probably setting strategy and that sort of thing? I have gotten the impression that he's a very good, experienced player, so that would seem natural. I ask, because that might give us some insight into the mind frame of the lone scum left.

I will look over my notes and think about possible scum, as all of you have so carefully done.

Feck less suspicious, not cleared

Uselesstwit Almost but not completely cleared, I've had a couple nasty don experiences (mantiz! :))

Normal my experience is when someone is this quiet they want to stay under the radar. Scum want to stay under the radar. Did vote for cole, but also for Mantiz. He could be our sleeper.

Twinkie?I'm pretty concerned, did everything she could to lynch me, defend virphen. Didn't change vote even when it was obvious from the seer that he was scum. And this post from virphen right before virphen went down:

virphen wrote:
As my plan has pretty much gone to shit, I'll reveal what I was up to in exaggerating Twinkie's innocence.
I was trying to get whacked as cover for a special. It's one of my favourite tactics, in fact. I refer you to 2 games ago where I did the same. I hinted I had a special role, and took out a scum as I was a bomb. (I am not, to the best of my knowledge, a bomb this time, I didn't know I was one that day). I think Mantis should remember another game on RDF when I actually arranged for a vigilante to shoot me to help town (in a PM allowed game).
That's also why I waited until the 2nd day to make that claim - I wanted it to look like I'd had the chance to clear her as the seer.
Anyway there's no chance of it working now, scum will keep me alive - it's quite clear that scum are not going to whack innocents they think are going to get lynched next.
Mind you, I didn't exaggerate much: the chances of Oblivion missing out the PM to the scum team are next to 0. I bet it's the first PM she sends out. I'm surprised Twinkie wasn't whacked on the first night."
I thought this was really strange. It's when I began to wonder about some sort of coordination again, and this his attempt to clear her, but acting like he had don't all this on his own and that's what make her look scummy. But then again he says he was "exaggerating" Twinkies innocences (maybe the pm thing which others thought was "exaggerated too.)

Also Twinkle's opinion after seer fingered virphen: "My current estimation is that scum are: higgs2 and uselesstwit, or charlou and normal" Charlous was the seer, Useless cleared by Charlous. But we were all fos'g virphen.
her opinion of me: "I feel it's more likely that higgs2 is scum, because she is playing such a different game, a noisy scum flail-y game."

Mantisdreamz seems to be on the same track with me re: normal and twinkie. Doesn't think there's a don. Voted for both col and virphen.

The problem is, I was just going by process of elimination in my vote for Normal. Technically, by the way he has been posting, he doesn't really sound all that scum like.

If Normal is not scum, then I'm thinking either Feck. (Or possibly Twinkie).

In defense for myself, on day 1, I voted colubridae right away (I think I was the second vote for her). In the following days, I have been freely stating my thoughts, including virphen at one point in my list of possible scum suspects. I don't know if that is enough to really clear me, but it's all I can really think of at the moment.

For now I'm going to

unvote Normal

But will be back on later to get a vote in.

Also, one quick thing in regards to Twinkie. Is that she is being hard on herself for some of her actions. To me, that sounds completely like a town way of being.

I can't bring myself to think that Feck is scum either (for some reason).

My problem is that I usually end up sounding scumlike (even though I've never had the opportunity to try for real), but sometimes my death hasn't been all for the bad. So if we can get some useful information about killing me, sure.

it looks like I'm not going to get a chance to post much before this evening, in about 5 hours. Right now I really don't have any solid leads, I really need to reread everything. I'll get a long post out tonight. Unless someone just wants to confess and save me the trouble.

I've got to head back out to the build site now. Some nice person decided to light part of the framing on fire and it's a real mess out there now.

The thing is, I don't know if much will come out from lynching you (if you are innocent). Because I'm sure I will be the next to go - and you'll see that I as well am innocent. However, I do suppose you could be lying....

I'm going to re-read a few things myself.

You could also be lying. :razzle: However, higgs2's post has made me consider Twinkle as the most likely scum.
So much in fact, that I'll change my vote to her.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Yea, of course I could be lying too... was thinking that during posting but left that out. :razzle:

I was just going through the previous threads as well, and Feck did say this before Charlou even came out that she was seer and that she read virph as scum:
Feck said wrote: "I think I expressed the thought that you might be Scum Virphen ..."
So that there, really makes me believe that Feck is likely innocent. Because why would he incriminate his own team member before any one really caught on that virph was actually scum?

Another thing as well, was that I did notice that yes, Twinkie did vote for col the first day. Though, what I didn't realize was that she actually unvoted col and voted for DP. The next day DP was dead. Maybe scum were afraid that DP would question her as to why she put a vote on him. (Or maybe that was nothing).

I don't know, but it seems to be Twinkie or you, Normal...

I'll go with Twinkie for now as well. Though, I still am hesitant...

Classic stuff. You can afford to lynch me and have town win, but for the real town people out there, think long and hard about who is leading this charge against me and why.

higgs2, I'm now flabbergasted at you... you are supposedly an experienced player, yet you failed to see that my mistake (and yes Mantis I'm being hard on myself for that) in posting in the thread about not getting my role PM instead of PMing oblivion, DID in fact pretty much put me in the clear. You have maintained that this didn't really mean much, and from such an experienced player it's melted my brain. It has done all game.

And now, you lead a charge against me? Based on a lie? Wow. Fellow town people: higgs2 is lying (or mistaken) when she says that
higgs2 wrote:Also Twinkle's opinion after seer fingered virphen: "My current estimation is that scum are: higgs2 and uselesstwit, or charlou and normal" Charlous was the seer, Useless cleared by Charlous. But we were all fos'g virphen.
her opinion of me: "I feel it's more likely that higgs2 is scum, because she is playing such a different game, a noisy scum flail-y game."
... charlou had NOT come out as seer at this point, she had only said she was certain virphen was scum. My problem with charlou's (and higgs2's) campaign against virphen is that they were using the 'twinkie is in the clear' statement from his AS EVIDENCE that he was scum. Utter bullshit. He was scum, but that was not compelling evidence.

Anyhoo, this has been a frustrating game and I wish town well. I am town and I want town to win. :td: The third scum is doing a good job of either lying low and letting higgs2 bungle, or it's higgs2.

Keep that in mind.

You didn't miss out because you're on my list, I must have missed sending your PM in the rush. Sending it now.

I don't see how this implies you are either more innocent or more guilty. You had signed up second to last. You were missed. In a game this small the GM will usually just go down the list and send a pm to each player. In a larger game everyone will get a vanilla pm and then specials will get their own in addition.

If you had signed up after the roles were assigned, and then gotten a role, there would be reason to believe in all probability would be it would be vanilla town so the game would not become unbalanced. That is what I though had happened at first. But this is not the case. Oblivion is an experienced gm she had done lots of these. If she had reason to believe she had compromised the game with her mistake she probably would have started over with role assignments. She is that meticulous about running an ethical game.
