Re: Monopoly Day 2
sorry, yes I confuse her with higgs' first post this round.
Nelli, you need to speak up. We do lynch people we think are trying to stay under the radar.

I'm still looking at Nell myself too. I don't think I have had much previous experience with her before. So, I don't really know how to react. There definitely was a lot of questioning, it seems. Distraction? Or honest curiosity? I have no clue.Magicziggy wrote:No one except me has commented on Nellie.
Her 2? posts yesterday left me wondering.
Was she perhaps a bit at sea yesterday?
No one to give her a strong piece of guidance in her first scum role.
Nellie, Squid, DP ????
Just a thought.
Re: Monopoly Day 2
I think it's honest learning, Mantis .. This is nelli's second game and her first without a mentor. Not saying that she's innocent, but am willing to give her a little space to learn, either way. I haven't noticed her online since I've been here today ... Maybe she'll have more to add during the day sometime.

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt over the questions.
But she made a connection between me fooling her as scum and me being a good scumhunter. Does that follow?
We can't afford to let the new players have too much of an easy ride if they are scum. Town are three down after all.

Yes, this is pretty much why she hasn't been brought up much, by me at least, and probably others. But, she isn't forgotten.charlou wrote:I think it's honest learning, Mantis .. She won't learn much if we just tiptoe around her.charlou wrote:I think it's honest learning, Mantis .. This is nelli's second game and her first without a mentor. When she does arrive, she'll find she has a vote on her.
I think that is a much better learning experience.
Re: Monopoly Day 2
Where is that post, please? I'd think saying you're a good scumhunter would be an odd thing for nell to say about you in light of your role as scum in the previous game, which was the first game nell played and the only experience she's had of your game to date.Magicziggy wrote:I'll give her the benefit of the doubt over the questions.

It's here.

And the relevant bit says
Anyway, Ivote MZ. He did such a good job of convincing me of being town last game and then flipped scum. So if he is town this game, I think he could be a good scum-hunter.
She was voting me mayor.

Re: Monopoly Day 2
I take that as newness. But could be scum or town newness.
I'm 50:50 between squid and feck at the mome.

so am I, pretty much. I haven't igured out which is bothering me more.irretating wrote:I take that as newness. But could be scum or town newness.

I'm backing off you for the moment. I have detected some trolly-tracking tendencies in my reactions to your posts yesterday.
But, I'm wary. I wondered if I was trolly-tracking in the kingmaker game and you skated until day 4. A recent example. not the only example.

So it could be both?irretating wrote: I'm 50:50 between squid and feck at the mome.
Or does it have to be one or the other in your opinion.
I find Feck the most convincing as town.
He showed a definite preference for not having a trail lead to scum when nightkilling.
This reminds me of the kingmaker game when he lynched whoever. People speculated about his motives. But really, on Day 1, the only thing scum want to do is blend in and not be noticed for much at all. Voting Jynx would be a silly thing to do on Day 1 as scum. What Feck does really well as scum is blend in and goes unnoticed. A vote on a lynched town Jynx was never going to go unnoticed.
I'm convincing myself that Nelli's post is probably newness and I'm inclined towards Squid, but I'm not sure why.

Re: Monopoly Day 2
well, I know what I shared with Nelli while mentoring, and you guys don't. I focused on helping her understand the hide-and-seek game probably more than I should have, and imparted basic mafia lore probably less than I should have. Her questions so far have been clear indictments of my mentoring in the hide and seek game.
I think if she were scum she'd probably be asking some of these questions of her team mates, not of the gameplayers at large.

unvote Nelli
I've cooled sufficiently. I don't want to leave my vote for the sake of it.
I'll reserve any further judgement until she posts.

Re: Monopoly Day 2
That's a good point. Though Feck was the first to put a vote on Jynx. It could be that he just went along with it, and then hoped to have Mono as a scapegoat the next day since Mono's last minute jump on the Jynx bandwagon did look mighty suspicious. But, he was killed by the vig.Magicziggy wrote: This reminds me of the kingmaker game when he lynched whoever. People speculated about his motives. Squid's jump onto Feck does look curious. I would definitely like to hear more from him/her soon.
I'm off to bed for now, but will be back long before day ends.
