We do need to depart from some of the typical mafia mechanics; particularly the mayor vote. we'll have the same mayor for the entire game until the bombs go off, because nobody is lynched or nked. 2 votes day after day in the wrong hands is not a good idea.Magicziggy wrote:Obviously I don't know. And why is voting so weird Oblivion.
A 36 hour day. Surely we are able to test the waters. We don;t have to depart from tried and tested methods.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
I'm being fosed for being first off the bat with musing about a game we are all trying to get to grips with.
Most of you have had an extra 12 hours of thinking about this now.
Allow me a chance to catch up with that thinking before you blindly accuse.

Voting applies pressure and reveals intent. That much remians the same. Have you really abandonned all sense?oblivion wrote:We do need to depart from some of the typical mafia mechanics; particularly the mayor vote. we'll have the same mayor for the entire game until the bombs go off, because nobody is lynched or nked. 2 votes day after day in the wrong hands is not a good idea.Magicziggy wrote:Obviously I don't know. vote oblivion
she's pinging big time.
Spreading the vote could well be a very bad move for scum.
I'm going to have to think about it.
Putting all their team close to edge is much more dangerous for them than for town.
Spreading the vote on day 1 just means we are are more likely to hit scum.
Concentrating the vote can mean missing completely.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
I agree that we should be voting and unvoting as usual (not for mayor - as I said earlier that needs careful thought) and pressuring players as usual .. we also have to be very careful where our vote finishes up at the end of each day, as that is the vote which will remain as a permanent point on the votee (unless night actions remove it).

I've been waiting for him to check in and respond to my concerns. I think I got the response I was looking for.

Voting mayor is the same. I unvoted when I read the general sentiment. But mayor votes can be switched.
vote charlou
apart form a dodgy fos on me, she still seems the most pro town.
crosspost Oblivion.
One can only wonder what is going on in that head of yours.

Re: Timebomb Day 1
What's the current vote tally?
I seriously haven't the time right now to read the whole thread.
And no one has given me a summary of the discussion.
Do we have an agreed strategy or are we going to blindly follow Oblivion's logic on this?

Re: Timebomb Day 1
I could say the same of yours, but I think I know.
Re: Timebomb Day 1
Okay, now I see where you're coming from ... if we assume that there the town:scum ratio is as it usually is. I still think it's too random, though.Magicziggy wrote:vote oblivion

Either you are scum playing mind games with everyone or you are having an off day.oblivion wrote:I could say the same of yours, but I think I know.
Thinking you know is not the same as knowing.
Re: Timebomb Day 1
we don't have an agreed strategy, though I think we've agreed to wait until we have a semi-confident town read before voting for someone.
right now, I kinda agree regarding Charlou. She looks as townish as anyone, Feck's freakout notwithstanding.

Agreed, more from all those players. They've all been around but added nothing of substance .. in praying's case, literally nothing.Uselesstwit wrote:Also, while this goes for every game, this game in particular could be ruined by people not participating in it, so get active people. Especially, gonzo, athene, praying, aza, mantis, we need to hear from everyone. And not just checking in posts either.
Also, wondering when UT will be back ...
