The votes on b.tern happened during the end of the day. I guess, this comes up in every game I play that scum wouldn't lynch one of their own on the first day. Mantis and irre lean townish to me.

Just got back from dinner, and I never log out, so I always appear as if I'm watching.

In answer to your question, I don't think apology was glittery in and of itself. It was a basic apology. What I find glittery is any apology at all in that circumstance. Remember Diva's early games when she used to apologize a lot?

The apology seemed unnecessary and I see it as a reflection of guilt.
I apologize a lot, too, so I'm a bit biased. It's a knee-jerk thing, when I realize (or think) I've been wrong. It just blurts out.
It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important.

You said you understood what Zigmen was saying about Irre being "glittery" by saying her "Me, Me, Me" post encapsulated it. But Zigmen said specifically it was Irre's apology for breaking Guapo's Law that was "glittery."

Bilirubin, did you think Irre's apology was glittery.

Zigmen, what did you think was glittery about that apology? The exact words were "Sorry broke guapo's law," and were posted within a minute of her faux pas. There wasn't even punctuation - about as unglittery as you can get (in my opinion). Is it the combination of the self-vote, the "Me, me, me" post and the apology? But why did you mention the apology specifically? That seems so innocuous, compared to the other two things, if you're looking for glitter.

I just re-read my post and saw the glass-house of the punctuation comment. I forgot to put a question mark after the phrase:

Bilirubin, did you think Irre's apology was glittery?
No, I thought it was her earlier play that was attention seeking. I also think that strict adherence to "el guapo's rule" is stupid--sometimes who answers can be interesting.

Do you think asking the same question twice in a row in a single post is glittery?

Guests are off, dinner eater, and decompression underway (three days of guests with last minute notification was a bit much for me. Must be getting old). Give me a bit to spreadsheet out yesterday and today.

Well, yes, but apart from that what do you think? Any suspects?

It was the timing of Irre's apology that struck me, to be honest. Within a minute. A nefarious reason would, in my opinion, take a little more reasoning, and a little more finesse.

I had never heard of Guapo's Law until the last game I played here, and looked it up on the web. If I had have said that, then remembered the conversation about answering for somebody else, I can honestly see shooting out a quick "sorry."

I'm constantly saying sorry, because I constantly am sorry about various things I say or think.

amok, zig is either reaching or is being disingenuous with his case that my 'sorry broke guapo's law' is somehow really apologetic in the first place. But, whatever, I should be happy he's busy trolley tracking on aza and not me.

amok wrote:Diva, I'd like to ask you this question.

You voted Irre for Mayor/General and later said you think she'll turn up as Town of a Seer view, not matter what her alignment. So either Town or Don, right? If you have even the slightest suspicion that she's Don, what earthly reason would you have to keep your General vote on her, considering the tie-breaker, when there were 19 others to choose from?

I don't like this at all, but I'll await an answer.
I already answered this yesterday. Please read my posts. I voted for her so that Irre would be in the spotlight for her votes. I kept my vote on her so that she would be in the spotlight for her votes. Self-voting is as mayor is ballsy move, one that I did not think that scum Irre would make. I have played a couple of recent games with where her scumdar was pretty good and she is in a good timezone to keep up with last minute play, so if she were town, she would make a good candidate. I do not rule out possibilities as far as her being the don, I went with probabilities based on my experience with her and I was going with her not being scum.

1. One of the things to consider about last night, was the third vote on b. ternarius 20 minutes before nightfall when she knew she had the mayor vote. That is a hammer vote. It could be considered a bus in order to gain town cred. If you look on wiki Mafia, it says that there is a rule of thumb(?) that the third vote on a lynch is typically scum. That is what DP was referring to, with regards to self-voting and being the third on a lynch vote, such as in this response:

http://rationalia.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... 2&start=30

It is often wrong as, like assuming a self-mayor vote is scum and that was his point.

But the thing is, keep her in the spotlight.

2. If she successfully gets me lynched, I will flip town. That will be something to consider, since she claims to have a good early read on me from previous games in which the reality shows that she does not. Unless you count calling me scummy in nearly every game, when I am not your team, where you are bound to be right some of the time, a good read.

Things to consider, although based on what I know of her, she is probably town. She is having a profoundly self-deluded and idiotic moment, at least with regards to me.

I don't havemuch time to play this game. Just knowthat.

I voted irre and stuck there, she didn't get all wonky or hostile. I'm thinking she's town. Also I agree about diva's demeanor being indicative of her scum game.

I hit Edit instead of Quote by mistake. I know that's bad, and I acknowledged it as soon as I realized (hoping the game mod can do a back-track to see that nothing of significance was altered), but that's what I did.

I actually only asked the question once, and I thank you for answering. I understand that answer.

Ha!

Thing is, every single thing Diva says makes sense to me, except keeping her General vote on someone who she (apparently) believes might be the Don. Watching votes, watching whatever - sure. But I really can't figure out how giving someone an extra half-vote, when you're not sure of them, makes any sense at all.

I didn't even vote for a General, because you all seemed like a bunch of Scum in reading that first-day thread. I'm not even feeling good about my DP vote anymore, because after reading those posts a few times, I sort of see where he's coming from. Sort of a Tell, but Tells are tricky.
