Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Post Game
I'd like to both thank Gonzo for a very interesting and challenging game and apologize for whining about the timing issues.
Gonzo, I think you made a mistake in my role PM, by the way. It reads: "You are this games equivalent to a townie. You win when all threats to the town are eliminated. You are also the town's Roleblocker. Each Night you must PM me the name of a player (ex. Block _____) who's alignment you would like to read. You may send me the target's name ahead of time (during the Day phase) if you wish to get your action to me on time for certain."
That's why I asked about getting a reply to my actions. Anyway, finally figured it was an error and should have said "whose action you would like to block."
I'd also like to compliment andrewclunn for playing such a strong game as a newcomer. And also Mattshizzle, who obviously took on board some of the advice offered after that other game and played a much more active role. Well done!
And of course Charlou and UT. I think having the three of us hash things out toward the end, even though you guys were squabbling - ha!, let us figure out the truth.
Cheers to Town, Scum and Gonzo, in fact. A good game!

It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important.

Old West Mafia game thread

Zigmen wrote:Actually, my Scum game is nearly indistinguishable from my Town game.Uselesstwit wrote:I realize that zigmen has a rather unique scum game, but do people really see a benefit in 1/3 or 1/2 the scum team suiciding on day one on the off chance that people would mass out?
With one exception, the gambit. I never gambit as Scum (for over a year now).
And, i expect to be the Day1 lynch for suggesting this, and still believe we have the best chance of winning if we treat this like an endgame, rather than a game.
I suggest everyone read the reactions we've heard so far, and weight them against the logic.
I only suggested we discuss a mass out, and I clearly said we may want to consider doing it today or tomorrow.
There's some real gems of awkward reasoning in this thread. Game on!

Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Post Game
andrew took some stick for his approach - despite what people were saying he never did call for people to out their role, just to out something about their character to make it harder for scum to fakeclaim later. I do hope it was only scum who piled on him for thatamok wrote: I'd also like to compliment andrewclunn for playing such a strong game as a newcomer. and yes Matt did pretty good

I think MZ was the tough one. Good job town.
If you're going to follow a link, then check out this 30 player game that's still going.

Proper? Your assumption of roles being pointless because you assumed scum had been given fakes was a big mistake here. I'll wait for the patting of the backs to die down, but I still think my approach to day 1 would have been much better.gib wrote:do you think the game andrew is used to is vastly different from the proper version we play on here and TR?oblivion wrote:it was a fun game to watch.

did you read my posts just now where i said people were wrong to give you a hard time and that i actually signed up to help you?
let's get one thing clear - i think you were town's MVP this game
Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Post Game
added gib's role PM to the OP
Don't go near that elevator - that's just what they want us to do... trap us in a steel box and take us down to the basement.

Re: MGS3: Snake Eater Mafia - Post Game
I disagree. The only things I did were push hard on MZ and collect all the info into an easy list for town to view. Amok figured out why Zigman's claim was cover for Snake, and he and Charlou stopped there from being a night kill night 3. I think there was no clear MVP.gib wrote:let's get one thing clear - i think you were town's MVP this game
