M, hear, bloody hear! i suggested this (i think on ratskep) and was advised to 'just get into it.' well, fuck that, i can't be arsed wading through the rules AND trying to comprehend them while also attempting to survive in the game. time was one could apprentice one's arse to a master with a view to said master teaching one the ropes.
apprenticeships have been re-conjured for enterprise, why not games?

If someone lets me shadow them for a couple of games, I'll gladly pay it forward. If everyone does that, it won't take long to get a good bank of new players.

I'm almost always happy to sit out a game and mentor. I've done the reverse mentor thing a couple of times (where someone shadows me), and I'm game to do it again sometime.

I think it's a great idea M.
Happy to assist, although not sure there's much to learn from me.
I just fly by the seat of my pants.
You had a really tough debut and I thought you did just fine.

I still don't know what half the terms mean either, what the hell is Ping?
We have no great war, no great depression.
Our great war is a spiritual war.
Our great depression is our lives.

A ping is when you pick up on a scumtell
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

As a newbie I'm not up to date on all the rules. I would like to know the rules about night actions in particular now. Do they have to be in an hour before day break? Perhaps we could have a thread explaining standard mafia rules (I looked at wiki but it discussed the general game structure, not the rules per se).
To ignore the absence of evidence is the base of true faith.

AFAIK they don't
have to be in with an hour to daybreak. It depends on the game mod. I suppose it's the sort of thing that, if you had a night move in your role, you would clarify with the mod via PM.
