I don't like being vanilla town because I usually get lynched. I have no way of avoiding a lynch other than outing as a special.

Well, signalling to town that you are town too is part of the goal for vanilla players, but it is not the only goal. At least as important is to analyze and independently participate in the voting, try to get people to do things that will give indications of their alignments, etc. As vanilla it's worth risking a lynch if there's information to be gained.

I don't understand this at all, because I SO enjoy the first few days of being VT. Granted that might be a "meta" thing, because I haven't played all that many games, and so far I've been sort of in the background, no matter what is eventually revealed about my alignmen

But geeze, louize, isn't it fun and exciting to be Vanilla Town? I like it, very much.
