higgs was not dangerous to the teams like Mono and Ghat were. I thought it was interesting that you guys put so much focus on higgs and basically ignored the more dangerous indies. I think due to their win conditions and abilities to affect the outcome, they kept a low enough profile that higgs wound up taking most of the heat.Animavore wrote:I knew we should've been getting rid of Higgs and if it weren't for a mix up in the times on night 2 he would've been out.

Right, you would tend to help the strongest team to a win, which was not good for the other two teams.mononoke wrote:I think I was the person most responsible for the monkey's winning. I ran a somewhat similar game last year for halloween. It wasn't an Oz theme, but it had multiple "town" teams and inimical indies. In that game, the teams that were falling behind cooperated with each other to put the brakes on the strongest team. And the Glinda and Ozma elements were drawn together into a small team that wanted to defeat the indies and end the game in a draw. The small team was considered to be scum by everyone else in the game, though they had the usual town restrictions - didn't know who each other were and couldn't communicate unless their seer viewed one of them (which never happened). In my mind the teams were all town factions.
I made some mistakes in the design of that game that I was able to correct in this game. I think it made for a more interesting puzzle for the players.

Yeah, I even said a few things about ghat, but they weren't pickin' up what I was layin' down. And I was afraid to push it too far and get even more attention. A draw or survivor condition can't be good for "town". And I've seen people claim not to be killable before but I've never seen it be true. And why need a pardon from yourself if you can't be banished? I would have been all over that if my win condition had been different.oblivion wrote:higgs was not dangerous to the teams like Mono and Ghat were. I could have played it low profile without outing, I guess. THat might have been safer. But I really had to do something because of the comment gib made to me, and I outed to get a bw off me. It was funny that no one noticed that the only vote I made, I think, was for gib for "setting me up". I would have voted if I had had to in order to save myself from lynching. But the Ruler of all OZ doesn't vote much you know

You played great, and lol about the winkies. Darn them! Even though all my subjects are dear to me I was getting a bit frustrated with the little rascals for hiding so well.

Great game Higgs and Winkies, for the record I had the Winkies/monkeys thing sussed, unfortunately the only place I could post it was the zombie board.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.
