What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. The meteor shower is expected to peak in intensity on the 11th, I believe. So being the 10th there in your hemispheres (north, and the one where you are a day behind us here in the leading hemisphere :) ) it should be be showing a reasonable amount of activity. But go out tomorrow night, and you should see quite a spectacular display.
