Is it worth the extra $150 though?Animavore wrote:The dearer one.

Depends what you want it for. Are you turning Pro?

Dunno really.. I've been away from the camera world for years, since one of my old GFs was into it, and I didn't know too much about them (cameras ) then.
I'd lean towards the cheaper one as an entry level camera.

Possibly, but it will be for the Wolf Center, so I won't get paid for it.Animavore wrote:Depends what you want it for. Are you turning Pro?

I'd recommend my Lumix quite highly...

Shooting captures will require that I can shot a lot of pix really fast, "sports mode" on my camera.Continuous Auto Focus up to five frames per second at full resolution for great action shots; capture up to 60 frames per second at 3.5 MP resolution

Buy a bridge camera, for example this one.

I have a digital SLR and the telly lens costs i bought costs more than this camera.

Nice, but not much of a boost from my current Coolpix. I don't want to half step, not wanting a "bridge". Thanks for the info.Pensioner wrote:Buy a bridge camera, for example this one.

Re: Which camera do I want?
The Fuji bridge cameras do seem to be getting bloody good these days. - Nice to see the one linked to by Pen shoots in RAW, too.
However, don't forget that you'll be stuck with the lens (with no means to focus manually) and will have limited shutter time (8 seconds on my Fuji bridge) and this might stifle any ideas about creativity you have.
As for the two SLRs you showed...Personally, I'd go for the Nikon with the vibration reduction lens but I'm biased because I'm a bit more familiar with them. In reality, I doubt there is little to choose between the two in terms of build or image quality.

Re: Which camera do I want?
Okay, a bit more detail. The Center wants to document wolf handling, most especially captures, where a dozen or so people herd a wolf into a corner and net it. I would be documenting this, outside the fence at first and then inside. So I need really good pix taken really fast with good resolution and no do-overs if I can avoid them.
