We get these silly beliefs that Josh feeds Dawkins selective quotes, to shape his opinion of you all, and that Dawkins couldn't seriously look at you all so marginally."

It's fucking pathetic, it's time you all face reality. Dawkins made the decision himself to change the forum. It's his name, his brand, his site, his everything. Josh is just a hired hand. He didn't give Josh absolute power to run his site anyway Josh wanted too, he hired Josh to shape the forum the way Dawkins want it to be shaped. Josh is only the enforcer, Dawkins is the King.

In some archaic cultures the King would have a fool, so when the King was in hot shit, he could reflect all the blame onto the fool, who would become the communities scapegoat, rather than the king. The king would maintain his innocence and the resentfully deluded mob would turn their violence onto the scapegoat.

Seeing the vilifying of Josh on these forums by RDF members, reveals the same sort delusional psychology of that pathetic mob. You all are hell bent on believing your saint didn't just tell you all to fuck off, and that you all are just a bunch of easily disposable rubbish. But that's exactly how he feels about you.

It's time for you all to face reality, and stop living in an embarrassing state of denial. Stop using Josh as your scapegoat, and place all the blame on the Man in charge; the man fully aware of what's going on, and who doesn't give a fuck about you, even though you wanted to believe otherwise. You never had no special place in his heart, you're just a bunch of annoying fans that put money into his pocket, that have in his eyes overstayed their welcome.

The truth hurts doesn't it? Well deal with it. But this whole business of living in denial of this, is utterly embarrassing.

Well, Josh appears to have been prinicpally responsible for the cack-handed and then squalid handling of the forum's demise. But as you say, I'm sure RD must by now have encountered some of the more courteous and heartfelt complaints about the situation, and seems to have offered no understanding in return.

I think the problem is that he was never really there in the forum, so he doesn't get what the big deal is. He wanted order, he saw chaos, he ordered it removed. But the value of all that chaos (and the quality of some of the material buried therein) has escaped him completely, as has the degree to which its participants treasured it all. My impression is that he is guilty of what he has so often accused theists of: ignorance. Not of what has gone on, but of why it mattered.
