I agree that there is an amount of suffering involved

If Buyukmihci has evidence that these surgeries were done in a way that did not minimize suffering, he should speak up, and the neuroscience community would join him in deploring them.

I suppose killing all kittens after the researchers are through experimenting with them is clear evidence that suffering is kept to a minimum.

Almost all scientists in any field where animals are used are outright sadistic cunts. All I ever heard was 'the animals are sacrificing themselves for science.' Yeah like they had a choice, The glee in which they enjoyed that part of the job went far beyond the search for knowledge. They make farmers look compassionate by comparison. I don't expect much sympathy from a bunch of bacon lovers but I'm putting it out there anyway.
