Announcement about RDF
Re: Announcement about RDF
Byers' infamous 'polar bears are scared to the point of white hair' almost made me lose my faith in Darwinism. He was so clever.

As for making money - I'm sure you it must be possible to have a forummy format with ads added? And I'm also sure that people would donate to keep the forum going. And even there, why haven't they added ads to the front-page if that were the motive?

Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.
Prithee, nuncle, keep a schoolmaster that can teach
thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

And go the fools among.
Prithee, nuncle, keep a schoolmaster that can teach
thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

Are you saying Cali can talk about the biology of crawfish, or the delicacy of crawfish?

Re: Announcement about RDF
Hello, just adding my name to the list of refugees. I never posted that much on RD.net but I was reading it nearly every day.
I remember a few weeks ago someone posting a link to infowars.com saying that corporations are crushing free speech on the internet. I just though it was tin hattery and that there was no reason to worry - no way that RD forums would be taken down with such a strong community. How very wrong I was.
I feel so sorry for the mods and all the members that have invested so much time. I just can't believe how badly it's been handled - and deleting users and all their posts CJ, Darwinsbulldog etc. just appalling. very sad.

[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Am I the only one talking about the young MacGuffin here and not Cali?Stephen wrote:Are you saying Cali can talk about the biology of crawfish, or the delicacy of crawfish?
The only crawfish Cali would know are the ones he studies in his aquarium, not in his toilet bowl.

You can use the 'Mr.' honorific if you please, but just calling me Cunt will be fine with me.SpeedOfSound wrote:Love your new handle. Would you prefer a Mr. before that or should we keep it informal?Cunt wrote:Do you want a random list? Or alphabetical?SpeedOfSound wrote:

Hiya Speed, loved those threads. Yes, start a new one. I bet lots of rationalians will join in or at least enjoy reading them.SpeedOfSound wrote:I have ten thousand posts over there that document my personal journey from thinking that rocks should be conscious to a firm personal solution to the Hard Problem and a thorough understanding of both the philosophy and science of the mind. My personal problem and my personal whine. I'm sure that everyone who has participated has laid down in bits there own rational journey in the same manner.
BTW. Will they get irritated here if I start still more threads about C?
The new forum, a pheonix indeed, is at http://www.rationalskepticism.org. Ex RDF guys, that is home for those that want it.
