I think that, since the rest of us have been spreading the name of rationalia all over the internet for the past 22 hours or so, there aren't going to be any objections.

I have never been a great follower of resurrection stories so I suspect the RD forum is dead as a trout.

Anybody invited susu over. I'd hate to think we can't replicate some of the technical discussions over here.
Might I suggest an added section to the "Serious Stuff" section dealing directly with "Evolution". The "Science, Technology & Environment" can contain it, but part of my enjoyment of RD was knowledgeable people on evolutionary biology. My personal interest is in algorithms, but borrowing ideas from biology is very useful. That's also where more than a few IDers tended to go.
I think that is a good idea, and I'll raise it with the rest of the staff.
I'd like to recreate the Climate News Thread as a sticky that several spent a lot of time on and is a good resource....I have the content of the last 15 pages in a rich text format and life I think is getting it fully formatted.
Hate to see 115 pages of carefully garnered articles go unused.....![]()

That's what you think, I heard a rumour the rationalia massive is currently gathering pitchforks and flaming torches somewhere just outside Norwich and are now coming to exact revenge.hackenslash wrote:I think that, since the rest of us have been spreading the name of rationalia all over the internet for the past 22 hours or so, there aren't going to be any objections.

If you want to look for deleted posts, there is the wayback machine at Archive.org
It is running horribly slowly and I cannot see if they have the forums or just the front page.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

He was (and may still be) running a site called TAF that many of us were in before we made a second move to here. They may have taken in some of the influx as well...DanDare wrote:ObscuredByClouds ended up over at Sam Harris' site I believe.NoDayJob wrote:Just something that has puzzled me for a while nowand it may have nothing to do with anything:
The former RD.net forum veteran member FedUpWithFaith whom I always respected for his wit and intelligence stormed off rather suddenly over a year ago now I think, while the former Admin ObscuredByClouds also left as an unhappy bunny, does anyone know what that was all about?
I never wanted to ask on RD.net, then again, of course I may just have missed all the right threads.
Should I call you lot the influxers?

That date being August 21st 2009, not long after the hacker episode. I wonder if the hacker business was used as leverage in convincing RD to dump the forum?RichardPrins wrote:My sign-up date for this site is the day I resigned over there. The current 'direction' was already known by that time.
